According to media reports, Infineon, the world leader in power semiconductors, is planning a new round of product price increases. The increase of MOSFET will be 12%, which is expected to be implemented in the middle of this month. Several power semiconductor manufacturers have also recently issued price increases.

In the second half of 2019, imported IGBTs will be out of stock, and MOSFETs will enter the out of stock cycle with the outbreak of the epidemic in early 2020. At present, the market still has a strong demand for power semiconductor products such as diode and triode, transistor, low, medium and high voltage MOSFET, IGBT, etc. The delivery time of some imported products is as long as 52 weeks, and that of domestic products is as long as three months. The capacity bottleneck of the wafer factory still exists, and a new round of price rise is coming. The insiders said that the biggest gap in the power semiconductor market is the products with certain technical barriers. In this case, the high boom cycle of the industry will continue.
Automotive semiconductors can be roughly divided into five categories, with power semiconductors accounting for the largest proportion, accounting for about 43% of the automotive semiconductor market. The explosion of the electric vehicle market has a strong pull on the growth of the power semiconductor market. The increase in the gap between automobile supply and demand makes power semiconductors manufacturers have no worries about sales in the short and medium term. Zou Guangcai, deputy general manager of the National New Energy Vehicle Technology Innovation Center, said that the overall market size was about 15 billion US dollars, and the market size would be further improved in the future. According to IHS Markit data, the market size is expected to grow to 44.1 billion dollars by 2021.
In addition to Infineon, the world's leading power semiconductor manufacturers, such as ST, Ansome, and Anshi Semiconductor, have also recently issued price increases, and ST announced that the prices of all series of products will start to rise on June 1; Ansenmey also announced the price increase of some products, with the effective date set for July 10 this year; Anshi Semiconductor announced to raise the price of its products on June 7. The capacity gap created by foreign manufacturers objectively promoted the domestic substitution process of power semiconductors. Chip products of domestic brands, such as Silanwei, Stargate Semiconductors, New Jieneng, Suzhou Dongwei, Huamicroelectronics, have posed a great challenge to imported products, but the production capacity is limited, and the delivery time is also lengthening, usually more than 3 months.
